Seeking advice on best method of purchasing first T

After reading forums, I was wondering how safe a T would be if it ordered over the internet and shipped. How does the T get shipped? I am just afraid of something happening to it after spending the money to buy it and have it mailed. I never bought a pet and had it mailed so that got me curious. Of course buying one in a pet store is the most convienent way, but pet stores may not have the T's I will be looking to buy after experiencing with handleing T's in the future.

Mike, so many outstanding dealers out there, one of my favorites is swifts invertebrates, I have also ordered from ken the bug guy, I'v had orders with a few others but basically, most forums will have a review area where people will post about them. Do a little reading on them if you can and good luck!

I went to a pet shop and they had SEVERAL species! I know they are agressive but I just cant pass on the beauty but I think Im going to go with a cobalt blue T. Or a simple rose-hair. Just pretty much depends how much money i have @ the time of purchase. As soon as I get it, I will post pics.

Is this your first T Mike? If so a Cobalt s a very unforgiving and fast T. Their bite is also not something I wish upon anyone.

If beauty is your thing look up some of the following Ts. These are some of my more favorite ones for colouration and a couple I have in my own collection:

Brachypelma boehmei (My personal favorite)
Avicularia versicolor (This one is amazing from sling to adult!)
Avicularia purpurea
Brachypelma emilia
Brachypelma klaasi
Brachypelma albopilosum (This one is so handle able and I just think is so funky as an adult)

Hope this helps you out a little bit...if you have the patience as well to to with your purchase get your T when its at the 1" or so mark and you will find the price is a lot lower and easier to deal with as well.

Cheers with your new acquisition!
